Could a simple blood test predict Post-Anesthesia confusion in kids?

NCT ID NCT07249736

Summary

This study aims to understand if the level of ketones in a child's blood is connected to how confused or agitated they become when waking up from anesthesia. Researchers will observe 200 children, aged 2 to 12, having planned surgery. They will measure blood ketones and watch for signs of confusion after surgery, but will not change the children's normal medical care.
