Could a simple drink help failing hearts in the ICU?
NCT ID NCT06952140
Summary
This study is testing whether a ketone ester supplement can improve heart function in critically ill patients whose hearts have been weakened by a severe infection (sepsis). Researchers will give the supplement or a placebo to 12 patients in the ICU and measure changes in heart performance. The goal is to see if this approach can help stabilize patients during a life-threatening condition.
