Ketone drink trial aims to clear ICU confusion
NCT ID NCT07364162
Summary
This study is testing whether a special ketone supplement drink is safe and practical to give to patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). Researchers want to see if this drink might help reduce or shorten episodes of delirium, a state of severe confusion and disorientation that is common in critically ill patients. The study will involve 40 ICU patients who will receive either the ketone drink or a placebo for up to 7 days.
