NCT ID NCT06626815

First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested three different ways of holding a baby skin-to-skin (kangaroo care) during a heel prick blood test to see which one hurts less. 63 full-term newborns were placed in classic, side, or reverse kangaroo positions. Researchers measured pain, comfort, heart rate, oxygen levels, and crying time. The goal is to find the most soothing position for routine newborn screenings.
