New cuddle position tested for tiniest babies
NCT ID NCT03990116
Summary
This study aimed to see if holding a very premature baby in a side-lying position during skin-to-skin 'kangaroo care' is just as good as the traditional chest position for keeping the baby stable. It involved 70 infants born before 28 weeks of pregnancy. Researchers measured the babies' temperature and other vital signs over their first five days of life to compare the two holding methods.
