Summary

This study looked at whether starting continuous kangaroo mother care (skin-to-skin contact) early can help unstable preterm babies weighing less than 2000g survive. It included 279 newborns in a Gambian hospital. The goal was to see if this simple, low-cost method reduces deaths within the first 28 days compared to standard care.
