Hidden weakness after ACL surgery revealed by jump test

NCT ID NCT07448064

First seen Mar 12, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looked at how force is produced during a vertical jump in people about six months after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction compared to healthy individuals. Researchers wanted to see if strength differences between the operated and non-operated leg persist even when routine tests look normal. About 100 participants (50 post-surgery and 50 healthy) performed jumps on a force platform to measure leg force. The goal is to improve rehabilitation and return-to-sport decisions, though participants may not directly benefit.
