Jaw surgery offers new hope for sleep apnea sufferers

NCT ID NCT07446634

First seen Mar 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether a specific jaw surgery can improve breathing during sleep in people with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea who cannot use standard treatments like CPAP machines. About 48 adults will be followed over time to see if the surgery reduces sleep apnea events, daytime sleepiness, and increases airway size. The goal is to understand how well the surgery works and if the benefits last long-term.
