Do jaw muscles work better after fixing a narrow palate?

NCT ID NCT05820438

Summary

This study aimed to understand how a common orthodontic treatment affects children's jaw muscles. Researchers measured the electrical activity of chewing and swallowing muscles in 34 children with a narrow upper jaw before, immediately after, and six months after treatment with a rapid palate expander. The goal was to see if correcting the jaw's width improves how well and how evenly these muscles work.
