First seen Jan 20, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding breathing or back exercises to standard jaw muscle therapy can reduce pain and improve function in people with jaw joint dysfunction. 63 adults with jaw joint problems were split into three groups: one did only jaw and neck exercises, another added breathing exercises, and the third added back exercises. After 16 sessions over 8 weeks, researchers measured pain, jaw function, mood, and sleep to see which approach worked best.
