Scientists map how stretching the jaw reshapes your face
NCT ID NCT06246656
Summary
This study aims to precisely measure how a custom-made device used to widen the upper jaw changes both the underlying bone and the overlying soft tissues, like the nose. Researchers will track these changes in 38 adolescents and young adults (ages 12-26) who need this treatment for a narrow upper jaw. They will use 3D scans and X-rays taken before, during, and after the widening process to create detailed maps of the facial changes.
