First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether eating a small amount of Jarlsberg cheese every day, along with calcium and vitamin D supplements, can improve bone density and bone health markers in people with weak bones (osteopenia or osteoporosis). About 60 adults over 55 will be randomly assigned to take supplements alone or supplements plus cheese for 16 weeks, then all will receive cheese for another 16 weeks. The goal is to find a simple, dietary way to help control bone loss.
