Could a slice of cheese a day keep brittle bones away?
NCT ID NCT05787808
Summary
This study is testing if eating a specific amount of Jarlsberg cheese every day, along with standard calcium and vitamin D supplements, can improve bone strength better than supplements alone. It will involve 60 older adults who have early signs of bone loss (osteopenia). Participants will be randomly assigned to either take just the supplements or the supplements plus the cheese for part of the study, and researchers will measure changes in their bone density over several months.
