New MRI technique could predict rectal cancer spread before surgery
NCT ID NCT07269912
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests whether a special MRI technique (IVIM) can predict lymphovascular invasion (LVI) in rectal cancer before surgery. LVI is a key sign that cancer may spread, but current tests often miss it. Researchers will scan 400 patients and compare MRI results with tissue samples to see if this non-invasive method can guide better treatment decisions.
