Ultrasound could predict blood pressure drops during spine surgery

NCT ID NCT07549165

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at whether an ultrasound measurement of a large vein in the belly can help doctors track blood volume changes during lower back surgery. About 128 adults having planned lumbar stabilization surgery will be checked at several points before, during, and after the operation. The goal is to see if this simple, non-invasive test can predict drops in blood pressure and guide safer care.
