Study tests faster iron fix for Post-Surgery anemia

NCT ID NCT04268849

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to treat iron deficiency anemia in people who have had weight-loss (bariatric) surgery. It will compare the standard oral iron pills, which can cause stomach problems, against a single intravenous (IV) iron infusion. Researchers will measure which method works faster and better at improving energy levels and blood counts over 6 weeks and 12 months.
