Common pain drug under scrutiny for dangerous blood pressure drops in emergency surgery

NCT ID NCT07466108

Summary

This study aims to see if a common intravenous painkiller (paracetamol/acetaminophen) causes dangerous drops in blood pressure when given to patients during emergency abdominal surgery. Researchers will compare the drug to a placebo in 90 patients to measure its effects on blood pressure and heart rate. The goal is to improve pain management safety for these high-risk patients.
