First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study is looking at whether the timing of when a hormone-releasing IUD is placed affects the chance of developing ovarian cysts. Researchers will follow 60 women for one year, using ultrasound to check for cysts at 0, 3, 6, and 12 months. The goal is to find the best time in a woman's cycle to insert the IUD to reduce cyst risk.
