New hope for relieving debilitating itch in blood cancer patients
NCT ID NCT03808805
Summary
This study tested whether the drug aprepitant works better than hydroxyzine to relieve severe itching triggered by water in people with certain blood cancers. 63 adult patients who experienced this persistent, bothersome itch participated. They took one of the two pills for 14 days while researchers measured how much their itching improved and checked their quality of life.
