Anesthetic gas tested as last hope for unstoppable seizures

NCT ID NCT05830864

Summary

This study looked back at medical records to see if the anesthetic gas isoflurane could help stop severe, life-threatening seizures that did not respond to other treatments. Researchers reviewed data from 66 adult patients in intensive care units who received isoflurane as a third-line therapy. The main goal was to see how often the treatment successfully controlled the seizures or allowed patients to wake up.
