First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looked at whether temporarily restricting blood flow to the legs (ischemic preconditioning) could help taekwondo athletes perform better. Sixteen adult male athletes completed kicking tests after either a real or fake version of the treatment. Researchers measured oxygen use, kick count, and blood lactate to see if the technique improved aerobic energy supply.
