First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether a technique called remote ischemic preconditioning can reduce kidney injury in people undergoing partial nephrectomy for kidney cancer. The approach involves briefly restricting blood flow to the arm before surgery, which may help protect the kidney on the operated side. Researchers will enroll 174 adults aged 18 to 80 and measure kidney function changes after the procedure.
