New surgical dye aims to prevent hidden injury during robotic operations

NCT ID NCT05954767

Summary

This study tested whether an injection called IS-001 could help surgeons see the ureter more clearly during robotic gynecological surgery. The ureter is a tube that carries urine from the kidney to the bladder, and accidentally injuring it is a serious risk. The goal was to see if the dye, used with special fluorescent imaging on the robotic system, made the ureter stand out better to avoid damage.
