First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested two different iron supplements in 120 regular blood donors to see which one causes fewer side effects. Participants took either a new type of iron (sucrosomial iron) or standard iron sulfate after donating blood. The researchers also checked if the supplements helped with restless legs symptoms. The goal was to find a better-tolerated option for donors who need to replace iron lost during donation.
