Could taking iron pills less often work just as well?
NCT ID NCT07014371
Summary
This study is testing if taking iron pills every other day works as well as taking them daily for treating iron deficiency anemia. Researchers want to see if the less frequent schedule is just as effective at raising blood iron levels and causes fewer side effects like stomach upset. Adults with anemia will be randomly assigned to take their iron pills daily or every other day for 8 weeks and have their blood checked regularly.
