Can a coated milk protein unlock better iron absorption?
NCT ID NCT07394972
Summary
This study aims to understand if a natural milk protein called lactoferrin can help women with low iron absorb iron more effectively. Researchers are testing if putting the protein in a protective capsule helps it survive digestion and get more iron into the body. The study involves 45 women with low iron stores who will consume specially labeled test compounds so researchers can precisely measure how much iron is absorbed.
