New blood test could catch silent kidney damage in diabetics

NCT ID NCT07435480

Summary

This study aims to find out if measuring a protein called irisin in the blood can help doctors detect diabetic kidney disease earlier and track its progression. Researchers will compare irisin levels in 200 people with type 2 diabetes to see if they correlate with kidney health. The goal is to develop a better tool for early detection, as current methods can miss the initial stages of this serious complication.
