Light therapy zaps eyelid lumps in new trial

NCT ID NCT07405138

First seen Feb 22, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether intense pulsed light (IPL) can safely shrink chalazia—painless eyelid lumps caused by blocked oil glands. Forty adults with inflamed chalazia will receive IPL or no treatment, and doctors will measure lump size after 4 weeks. The goal is to see if IPL offers a non-invasive option for this common condition.
