Could an antibiotic speed up lung fluid treatment?

NCT ID NCT03465774

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at two ways to treat fluid buildup in the lungs caused by cancer. One uses a small tube to drain the fluid, and the other adds an antibiotic called doxycycline to help seal the lung. The goal is to see if adding the antibiotic allows the tube to be removed sooner. About 208 people with this condition will take part.
