Cancer cocktail aims to turn inoperable tumors into surgical wins
NCT ID NCT07263360
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This phase 2 trial tests whether a mix of immunotherapy (iparomlimab and tuvonralimab), chemotherapy (gemcitabine and oxaliplatin), and a targeted drug (lenvatinib) can shrink bile duct and gallbladder cancers enough to be surgically removed. About 29 adults with locally advanced but potentially resectable cancer will receive up to six cycles of treatment. The main goal is to see how many patients can have complete tumor removal (R0 resection).

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Iparomlimab and Tuvonralimab (immunotherapy) combined with Gemcitabine, Oxaliplatin, and Lenvatinib (chemotherapy and targeted therapy)
What this could lead to
If successful, this combination could shrink tumors enough to allow surgical removal, potentially improving long-term survival for people with bile duct or gallbladder cancer.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial with only 29 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The combination of drugs can cause significant side effects, and it is not yet known if it will work better than standard treatments.
