New dental technique aims to stop kids from biting their numb lips after surgery
NCT ID NCT07108439
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether a special numbing method called intra-osseous anesthesia can reduce pain and side effects in children after having a permanent molar removed under general anesthesia. About 80 children aged 6 to 12 will be randomly assigned to receive either this numbing technique or no extra numbing before the extraction. The goal is to see if it helps them wake up more comfortably, with less pain and confusion, and without the accidental biting that can happen when lips stay numb.
