Can scheduled meals reset the body clock for ICU recovery?

NCT ID NCT07063303

Summary

This study investigated whether feeding critically ill patients on a scheduled, intermittent basis could help restore their natural 24-hour body rhythms, compared to the standard method of continuous feeding. Researchers enrolled 24 adult ICU patients and measured changes in genes linked to the body's internal clock, along with various health markers. The goal was to understand if aligning feeding times with the body's natural cycles could support recovery in intensive care.
