Could a common diabetes pill and text messages help a serious Heart-Lung condition?

NCT ID NCT03617458

Summary

This study tested whether two approaches could help people with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) walk farther and feel better. For 12 weeks, 73 participants either took the diabetes medication metformin or a placebo, and either received text messages encouraging physical activity or received usual care. The main goal was to see if these interventions improved how far people could walk in six minutes or reduced the severity of their symptoms.
