First seen Apr 20, 2026 · Last updated Apr 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested if insulin eye drops can safely and effectively treat moderate to severe dry eye disease. 116 adults were randomly assigned to receive insulin drops, cyclosporine drops, or artificial tears. The main goal was to see if insulin drops improved corneal staining (a sign of eye surface damage) after 6 months compared to the other treatments.
