Brain spray study probes Insulin's role in psychosis

NCT ID NCT07252752

Summary

This study aims to understand how insulin, a hormone that controls blood sugar, might affect brain chemicals involved in psychosis. Researchers will give a nasal insulin spray to people experiencing their first psychotic episode and to healthy volunteers, then use brain scans to measure changes. The goal is to learn more about the connection between metabolism and psychiatric symptoms, not to provide direct treatment.
