Breathe away the pain: new study tests breathing exercises for tennis shoulder

NCT ID NCT06186180

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether training the muscles you use to breathe in could help tennis players with shoulder pain. 40 adult tennis players with non-specific shoulder pain were split into two groups: one did special breathing exercises for 8 weeks, and the other did not. The researchers measured diaphragm thickness, breathing strength, and shoulder pain before and after the training to see if the breathing exercises made a difference.
