First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested an experimental oral drug called INS018_055 in 71 adults with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a condition that causes lung scarring and breathing difficulty. The main goal was to check the drug's safety and tolerability over 12 weeks compared to a placebo. Researchers also measured changes in lung function, specifically forced vital capacity (FVC), to see if the drug might help slow disease progression.
