Simple blood test may predict male infertility surgery outcomes
NCT ID NCT07415928
First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looked at 73 men with a condition called non-obstructive azoospermia, where the testicles produce little or no sperm. Researchers wanted to see if a blood test measuring two hormones (inhibin B and FSH) could predict what type of tissue damage is present in the testicles. The goal is to help doctors decide if surgery to retrieve sperm is likely to succeed, without needing a biopsy first.
