New ER program teaches parents correct inhaler use for kids with breathing trouble

Summary

This study aims to see if a special education program helps parents of children with breathing problems use inhalers correctly in the pediatric emergency department. About 80 parents and their children will take part. The program is based on mastery learning, meaning parents practice until they get it right. The goal is to improve how well the medicine works and reduce breathing complications.
