First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study will test a new infusion monitoring system designed to catch common IV complications—like phlebitis, infiltration, and extravasation—early in intensive care patients. About 102 adults in the ICU who are receiving medication through a peripheral IV will take part. One group will receive standard care, while the other will be monitored with the new system. The goal is to see if the system helps nurses detect problems sooner and reduce complications.
