First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tests if a 3-week course of ibuprofen (an anti-inflammatory drug) can reduce heart muscle inflammation better than standard pain relief (acetaminophen) in people hospitalized with acute myocarditis. About 150 adults with mild heart inflammation and normal pumping function will be enrolled. The main goal is to see if ibuprofen leads to less scarring on heart MRI after 6 months.
