Simple blood test could guide infertility surgery decisions

NCT ID NCT07415928

Summary

This study looked at whether a simple blood test could predict what doctors find during a surgical procedure to retrieve sperm from men with a specific type of infertility. Researchers analyzed medical records of 73 men who had the surgery and their pre-surgery bloodwork. They found that a ratio of two hormones (Inhibin B to FSH) was strongly linked to the condition of the testicular tissue, suggesting it could be a useful non-invasive tool before surgery.
