Can we stop giving preventive antibiotics to transplant patients?

NCT ID NCT07308457

Summary

This study is testing if closely watching patients for signs of infection works as well as giving them a daily preventive antibiotic (ceftriaxone) after a stem cell transplant. It involves 100 adults with blood cancers or other conditions who are receiving a transplant. Researchers want to see which approach leads to fewer infections and complications, especially in hospitals where bacteria are becoming resistant to common drugs.
