New 5-in-1 shot for babies shows promise in final trial

NCT ID NCT03891758

Summary

This study tested a new combination vaccine called BK1310, designed to protect infants against five serious diseases: tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough (pertussis), polio, and Hib meningitis. Researchers compared it to giving two separate, already-approved vaccines. The goal was to see if the new single shot was as effective at triggering a protective immune response and was safe for 267 healthy infants.
