New hope for infants with leukemia: immunotherapy trial seeks to clear cancer cells

Summary
This study aims to improve treatment for babies under 1 year old diagnosed with a type of blood cancer called acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Researchers are testing whether adding an immunotherapy drug called blinatumomab to standard chemotherapy can better eliminate leukemia cells that remain after initial treatment. The trial will enroll 90 infants to evaluate safety and effectiveness of this combined approach.
