First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study aims to create a special infant formula for babies born by C-section, who often miss out on beneficial bacteria from the birth canal. Researchers will collect probiotics from breast milk and stool samples of vaginally-born babies and their mothers, then test a new formula enriched with these probiotics and healthy fats. The goal is to improve gut health and reduce long-term health risks in C-section babies.
