Redness rumble: scientists test two irritation methods on faces and arms

NCT ID NCT07179263

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tested two methods for causing skin redness on the face and forearm of 44 healthy Chinese women. One method used a chemical peel (50% glycolic acid) and the other used tape stripping. The researchers measured redness with special devices and photos over 4 hours to see how the redness changed. The goal was to learn more about how skin reacts to irritation, not to treat any disease.
