Hope for youngest hearts: new drug trial targets rare, dangerous childhood cholesterol

Summary
This study is testing a drug called inclisiran to see if it is safe and effective at lowering very high 'bad' cholesterol (LDL-C) in children aged 2 to under 12 who have a rare, severe genetic condition. For the first year, children will randomly receive either the drug or a placebo, followed by a year where all children receive the drug. The goal is to better control this lifelong disease and reduce future heart risks.
