To pull or not to pull? new study tackles tough implant decision in jaw bone disease
NCT ID NCT07435259
First seen Mar 04, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looks at a jaw bone problem called MRONJ that can happen after taking certain bone-strengthening drugs. When it affects a dental implant, doctors aren't sure whether to remove the implant or try to save it. The study will follow 50 people to see if the amount of bone loss around the implant can help guide that decision. The main goal is complete healing of the gum tissue six months after treatment.
