First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a rapid respiratory PCR test (Spotfire R/ST) in urgent care can reduce unnecessary antibiotic prescriptions for acute respiratory infections. About 800 patients over age 1 with symptoms like cough or sore throat will be included. The goal is to see if faster diagnosis helps doctors avoid giving antibiotics when they aren't needed.
